Built in the early 1920's, St Peters has held many a function and sing along. From church services, funerals, brownies and dancing, special occasions and parties she had seen many feet in her day. The hall's size double in the 50's after some additions and a after fire in the 70's, was rebuilt and revamped. Made from the best Rimu, Matai and even Kauri weatherboard, she was built to last. But after a lot of fundraising by the church, it was time for a more modern building. RAMZE DEMOLITION LTD took the hall apart bit by bit to achieve a high salvage rate. We managed to recycle 80% of the building!!! From the timber, iron, steel, wiring, doors, windows, lights, flooring, toilets, down to the firewood was re-used in some way. Flooring from the hall is now gracing houses in Auckland, Hamilton, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Wellington, Wanaka, and the new Lonestar restaurant in Napier!!!
